At the start of the McDuffie County School Board’s work session Tuesday, members took a few moments to remember Dexter Lovins, and the small unique traits he brought to meetings.
Lovins died Feb. 28, part of the way into his second term of representing the Dearing-end of the county.
Greg Derry, board president, opened the meeting with the reminder of how Lovins always enjoyed when school children would sing and perform at the start of the meeting. At Tuesday’s meeting, the Dearing Elementary Choir performed two songs.
“I know Dexter would have been tapping his toes and clicking his pen,” Derry said.
