Sara Wilson Caldwell, 82, of Tignall, wife of Bobby Caldwell, died on March 13, 2013. Funeral services were held on Sat., March 16, at New Life Baptist Church in Washington. Entombment was in Athens Memory Gardens in Athens.
The family received friends on Fri., March 15, at Hopkins Funeral Home.

Ray C. Clark, Sr.
Ray Champion Clark, Sr., 80, of Stapleton, entered into rest on Fri., March 15, 2013. Services were held on Mon., March 18, at James Funeral Home Chapel. Interment was in Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Avera.
The family received friends on Sun., March 17, at the funeral home.

David C. Coon
David Carl Coon, 49, of Harlem, son of the late Quellen and Kay Wyatt Coon, entered into rest on Thurs., March 7, 2013.

Memorial services for Mattie Bell Harris 72, of Westbury, N.Y., were held on Sat., March 16, 2013, at Thankful Baptist Church in Gibson. Interment was in Stamp Branch Baptist Church Cemetery in Warrenton.

Billy Joe Julian Logan, 31, of Gibson, husband of Kaci Beasley Logan, entered into rest on Tues., March 12, 2013.

Bessie O'Stephenson
Bessie Shelton O'Stephenson, 96, of Norwood, wife of the late Johnny O'Stephenson, died on Wed., March 13, 2013.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wed., March 20, at Savannah Valley Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 9:30 till 10:30 a.m. prior to the service at Lowe Funeral Home in Warrenton.

Mattie Parks
Funeral services for Mattie Belle Garnett Parks, 79, of Appling, will be held on Tues., March 19, 2013, at 11 a.m. at Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Evans. Interment will be in Lampkin Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Appling.

Douglas Pentecost
James Douglas Pentecost, Sr., 69, of Stagecoach Rd. in Thomson, Ga., entered into rest on March 16, 2013.
Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tues., March 19, at the First Baptist Church, Thomson, with Rev. Butch Baston, Rev. Lester Jenkins and Ralph Starling officiating.
Mr. Pentecost was a lifelong resident of McDuffie County, Ga. and was the son of the late Johnny Pentecost and the late Jeanette Corbin Pentecost. He was a 1961 graduate of Thomson High School and was an outstanding athlete. Mr. Pentecost served in the U.S. Army National Guard during the Vietnam Era. He was former President of the Bank of Thomson, former President of Allied Bank Shares and former City President of Queensborough National Bank, Thomson. Mr. Pentecost was a former recipient of the Paul Harris Rotarian Award. He was an avid sportsman, enjoyed fishing and was an expert on Indian Artifacts. Mr. Pentecost had a passion for helping others.
Survivors include his beloved wife, Katrina “Tina” Pentecost; son, James D. “Jamie” Pentecost, Jr. of Senoia, Ga.; daughters, Laurie Pentecost Tricas and husband Chris of Grovetown and Courtney Pentecost of Thomson; brothers, Johnny Pentecost of Dearing and David Pentecost of Thomson; sisters, Ruth P. Hutchinson of Thomson and Peggy P. Harris of Appling; and grandchildren, Dylan Grzybowski and Morgan Grzybowski.
Friends may call at the residence of Ruth P. Hutchinson, 3134 Washington Rd., Thomson, Ga. and the family will receive friends there from 5 until 8 p.m. on Mon., March 18.

Funeral services for Lillie Mae Shank, of Stone Mountain, mother of Janice & Gregory Shank, were held on Sat., March 16, 2013, at Antioch CME Church & Cemetery in Lincolnton.

Thad Usry
Thad Usry, 83, of Wrens Hwy. in Thomson, Ga., entered into rest on March 14, 2013.
Graveside services will be held at 4 p.m. on Sat., March 16, in Savannah Valley Memorial Gardens with Rev. Grant Cantrell and Rev. Kenneth Garvin officiating.
Mr. Usry was born in Glascock County, Ga. but lived in McDuffie County most of his life. He was the son of the late Cleon C. Usry and the late Bessie McTier Usry. Mr. Usry served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict and was a retired Crane Operator from SRS with over 42 years of service. He also enjoyed farming and raising cattle.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Peggy Anderson Usry; sons, George Usry, Wayne Usry and wife Melody, Terry Usry and wife DeeAnn, Donald Usry and wife Cynthia, all of Thomson; brother, Leroy Usry of Stapleton; sisters, Frankie Nelson of Augusta and Nora Griffin of Spartanburg; grandchildren, Jayme and Beth Usry, Ayme and Jason Cranford, Brooke and Josh Ogletree, Melissa and Adam Weatherford, Nichole Usry, Brett Usry, Blake Usry and Blair Usry; great grandchildren, Callie Anne and Savannah Usry and expecting great grandchild, Lane Weatherford.

Constance Wilson
Constance Avanelle Wilson, 90, of Appling, wife of the late Robert Wilson, Jr., died on Sun., March 10, 2013.
Memorial services were held on March 17 at Damascus Baptist Church. Burial was in North Meadowlawn Cemetery in New Port Richey, Fla.
