The proper use and knowledge about fire extinguishers can serve as a line of defense in a fire situation at a home or business.
That point was reiterated numerous times in fire extinguisher training at the Advance Auto Parts Distribution Center on Cobbham Road in Thomson.
The McDuffie County Fire Rescue Services conducted group trainings March 7 and 8 to educate the company’s employees on the different types of extinguishers and how different classifications of extinguishers must be used on the proper types of fires.
“Fire safety is a very important part of any business and it is a very important part of human life,” said Karen E. Abraham, the Advance Auto Parts Distribution Center’s maintenance manager and coordinator of the training.
