The people of Thomson and surrounding areas showed that they were indeed their brothers' and sisters' keepers by showering support upon Haiti at a benefit Sunday evening.
Organized by Springfield Baptist Church, a 100-voiced men’s and women’s gospel choir performed in a Feb. 24 concert in the auditorium at Thomson High School to help undergird relief efforts in the Caribbean nation of Haiti.
“This effort was to bring the community together to support brothers and sisters in need,” said the Rev. Frederick Favors, pastor of Springfield Baptist Church and concert visionary.
