• Man arrested for trying to take an officer’s taser

A Thomson man is in the McDuffie County jail after an altercation with a police officer responding to a domestic dispute at a local residence.
Patrol Officer Tiquila Winns was dispatched to the 400 block of Canary Street at 9:15 a.m. Tue., Feb. 26 to address an incident between a man and woman at the home.
According to Police Chief John Seay, when Winns gave commands to Andrew Stone, he would not comply and “my officer” and Stone got into a struggle as he tried to take her taser.
