The Thomson Bulldogs defeated the Lincoln County Red Devils 9-8 at Bulldog Field Thursday.
In what Aaron Hall, THS head coach, called a nail biter, the Dogs prevailed by getting hits at the right time.
The Bulldogs (2-0) scored four runs in the first inning and were ahead 9-4 in the sixth inning. THS was able to hold off a 7th inning surge that saw the Red Devils score four runs.
Lincoln County outhit the Bulldogs 9-7, and the Bulldogs committed four errors to none for the visitors, who visited Thomson because their field was unplayable.
