• Season draws to an end for Lady Bucs
By Wayne Parham

The Lady Bucs’ hopes of making the GISA Final Four came to an end Friday night in Cochran when they lost to Arlington Christian 63-49.
Briarwood Coach Keith Johnson knew it would be a tough game since Arlington won the AAA state championship for the past two years and this year competed as a AA school.
The game started with Briarwood and Arlington fairly evenly matched. Then, late in the opening quarter, the Lady Eagles sank several 3-pointers. They held a 21-11 lead at the end of the first quarter. By the half, they grew that lead to 41-23.
“They’ve been scoring 70 and 80 points all year,” said Johnson. “I knew it was going to be tough.”
