Two McDuffie County young men, using animated delivery, power elocution and displaying knowledge of subject, have been tapped as top orators.
Ahmad Grays and Tycarius Cummings won first place in the middle school and high school divisions of an area-wide oratorical contest Saturday morning.
Grays, an eighth grade student at Thomson-McDuffie Middle School, and Cummings, a senior at Thomson High School, won the competition that focused on historical organizations that have transformed lives and impacted communities.
The two winners were among 11 middle and high school students from the CSRA participating in the exercise that helps cultivate public speaking and research ability.
