According to the National Transportation Safety Board’s (NTSB) online Accident Database & Synopsis, there have been two fatal plane crashes in the area of the Thomson-McDuffie County Airport since 1962.
The database includes preliminary reports, which are updated by factual reports, and provides a final description of the various accidents and the probable causes for each. The database contains information about civil aviator accidents since 1962.
Since 1962, NTSB has documented eight incidents associated with the Thomson area prior to Wednesday night’s crash.
