Local and federal officials toiled at the scene of a jet crash just north of Thomson Wednesday night through Friday, a grim task they will continue for several more days.
The corporate jet, a Beechcraft Premier 1A, went down east of Washington Road in northeastern McDuffie County killing five and injuring two more, according to the National Transportation Safety Board spokesperson.
Thursday evening McDuffie County Coroner Foster Wylie identified four of the five people who perished in the crash. Those confirmed dead are Dr. Steven M. Roth, Kim Davidson, Lisa Volpitto and Tiffany Porter. At press time, Wylie was unable to release the identity of the fifth victim. Earlier in the day, McDuffie County Sheriff Logan Marshall confirmed those killed in the crash were “associated with” with The Vein Guys, a Tennessee-based firm with an office in Evans.
