Luther Edwin “Bud” Farr, 89, of Thomson, Ga., entered into rest on Feb. 27, 2013.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Sat., March 2, from the Sharon Baptist Church with Rev. Andy Collins officiating. Interment will follow in Savannah Valley Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Farr was a lifelong resident of McDuffie County, Ga. and was the son of the late James Robert Farr and Naomi Marshall Farr. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II and upon returning home worked for the civil service at Fort Gordon where he retired. He was a member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees. Mr. Farr served as Bailiff for the McDuffie County Sheriff’s office. He was a faithful and devoted member of Sharon Baptist Church, where he served as a Deacon for many years.
Survivors include his beloved wife, Dorothy Cartledge Farr; son, Donald Edwin Farr and wife Carol, all of Thomson; two grandchildren, Brian Edwin Farr and wife Tara of Martinez and Brandon Cartledge Farr of Augusta; and one great grandchild, Emily Ryan Farr.
Memorials may be made to the Sharon Baptist Church Building Fund, 6262 Cobbham Rd., Appling, Ga. 30802.
The family will receive friends at the home of Donnie and Carol Farr and from 6 until 8 p.m. on Fri., March 1, at the funeral home.
Beggs Funeral Home, Thomson, is in charge of arrangements.
Goland Thomas Farthing, 53, husband of Cheryl Kobetitsch Farthing, entered into rest on Sun., Feb. 24, 2013.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thurs., Feb. 28, at James Funeral Home. Interment will be in Mt. Horeb Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Wed., Feb. 27, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Ralph L. McGahee
Ralph Lewis McGahee, 76, of Wrens, husband of Evelyn Hayes McGahee, entered into rest on Sun., Feb. 24, 2013.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Fri., March 1, at James Funeral Home. Interment will be in Wrens Memorial Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Thurs., Feb. 28, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mary Estelle Knight Stanford, of Dearing, wife of the late Barson Stanford, entered into rest on Feb. 23, 2013.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Fri., March 1, at First United Methodist Church in Waynesboro.

Clyde Tate, Sr.
Clyde Howard Tate, Sr., of Lincolnton, husband of Mamie L. Tate & father of Clyde, Jr., Cynthia, & Christopher, passed away on Fri., Feb. 22, 2013.
Funeral services will be held on Thurs., Feb. 28, at 2 p.m. at Ebenezer Baptist Church & Cemetery.
