• Passenger charged with possession after driver tries to evade checkpoint

A passenger in a car whose driver attempted to circumvent a license check point on Feb. 11 was arrested and charged with cocaine possession.
The Georgia State Patrol, conducting a license check on Cedar Rock Road at Twin Oaks Road around 2:15 p.m., tried to catch a black Dodge Charger after it approached the checkpoint and then accelerated onto Twin Oaks Road.
As a trooper tried to catch up to the car, David Kendall Davis, 29, the driver, lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a ditch.
