• Bulldogs win Region 3-AAA championship

The Thomson Bulldogs defeated Washington County to capture the Region 3-AAA Championship in Swainsboro Friday night.
Thomson came away a winner, 61-53, and will host the first round of the Class AAA playoffs against Peach County on Wednesday at 7 p.m. Admission is $7.
The Bulldogs had split regular season games against the Golden Hawks, and Coach Michael Thomas said THS had better movement on offense and did a better job defending against Washington County.
Thomson had a 33-28 lead at the half, but only a one-point lead at the end of the third period.
