Persistence was the key to a one-point win by the Thomson Bulldogs in the first round of the Class 3-AAA Region Playoffs Wednesday night.
The 64-63 win over Dodge County advanced Thomson to face Washington County in Friday’s championship game. Washington County handed Swainsboro a 58-46 loss in the other playoff game Wednesday night. All four teams advance to the state Class AAA playoffs.
The battle was a see-saw affair with neither team being able to forge more than a five-point lead throughout.
