The front entrance of the Brickyard is getting a facelift.
Work at the stadium where Thomson High School sporting and community events are held continues, according to Jim LeBrun, McDuffie County School superintendent.
“The front entrance is being totally redone, except for the bricks,” said LeBrun. “We will put up an aluminum structure that will withstand the weather and test of time.”
The brickwork that surrounds the stadium is from the original high school that burned when the school was struck by lightning in 1937.
