People didnít let the drizzle stop the ribbon-cutting celebration on McDuffie County new interstate interchange.
Nearly 50 people gathered on Interstate 20, near mile marker 169 at the Three Points Road Interchange to dedicate the area.
It is anticipated that the project should help ease truck traffic in downtown Thomson.
Department of Transportation personnel, contractor companies and other dignitaries were in attendance to open the ramps to traffic. Local representatives, McDuffie County Commission Chairman Charlie Newton, Thomson Mayor Kenneth Usry and commissioners the Rev. Fred Favors, Bill Jopling and Sammy Wilson were in attendance along with McDuffie County Sheriff Logan Marshall.
