Over the weekend, 220 horses and their riders competed at Pine Top Farms, in Thomson.
“What we did was kick off the United States Equestrian Association  season,” said Virginia Wilson, spokesperson for Pine Top Farms. The event was the first USEA Area III competition of the year. Area III is comprised of Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Tennessee, Alabama, Mississippi, and Florida.
The Pine Top Farm Winter Intermediate Horse Trials started Friday and concluded Sunday afternoon. The more experienced horses competed Friday, then horses in lesser divisions competed Saturday and Sunday.
