Traffic stop leads to drug arrests
By Linda Green

A Thomson Police officer, who stopped a car after the driver ran a stop sign, made a drug bust of the occupants three men and a juvenile on Monday evening.
Patrolman Rod Rodriguez pulled over a 2007 Chrysler 300 after the driver Jeff T. Collins, 18, ran the stop sign at Sills Street and White Oak Road and turned left onto Lincoln Drive at 7:40 p.m.
According to Police Chief John Seay, there was a strong odor of marijuana emitting from the vehicle when Rodriguez approached it.
The patrolman summoned K-9 Fredy into action and the dog responded positively to contraband in the vehicle, the chief said.
