• Lady Bucs defeat Edmund Burke and Covenant
By Wayne Parham

Briarwood Academy’s Lady Bucs notched another game into the win column Friday night by defeating Covenant Academy on the road.
The Lady Bucs’ scoring was consistant in the 68-32 win. The girls dominated the first half by outscoring Covenant 15-9 in the first quarter, then 16-5 in the second. At the half, Briarwood led 31-14.
“We had a good game. We’ve been just kind of playing second halves but we put it all together the other night,” said Coach Keith Johnson. “Every quarter was pretty solid.”
Johnson said the Covenant win was probably one of his team’s best game performances so far this year. When the two teams met earlier in the season at Briarwood, the two were tied at halftime. In that game, Briarwood won by 13.
