• Send off for troops is Friday

The community is encouraged to attend Friday morning’s sendoff of the local National Guard unit. It will be a chance to thank them for their continued service and to wish them well as they leave for overseas later this year.
The l-214th Field Artillery, Granite Battalion, will conduct base defense operations in Afghanistan beginning this spring through the spring of next year in support of Operation Enduring Freedom, according to LTC David Casey, commander of the battalion.
