• Three arrested for debit card fraud
By Linda Green

Three Thomson residents were arrested and charged with fraud after making nine transactions using a lost debit card.
A Dearing woman told the Thomson Police Department on Jan. 19 that her debit card was either lost or stolen after she made a purchase at the Sprint convenience store at the intersection of Jackson and Hill streets.
According to Police Captain Jamie Bridges, the victim received telephone calls about suspicious use of her bankcard. After her bank pulled the card’s activity record, it showed nine different unauthorized transactions that had been made or attempted.
