Spotty power outages and downed trees were the biggest bothers as a strong line of storms moved through the McDuffie County area Wednesday.
Converging cold and warm fronts brought about the dangerous condition that saw temperatures drop close to 40 degrees in less than 24 hours.
The threat of dangerous weather forced area schools and some churches to cancel afternoon and evening activities.
At approximately 10 a.m., Jim LeBrun, McDuffie County school superintendent, notified schools that with the bad weather imminent, events would be cancelled.
