Nearly 50 people gathered at the Depot Tuesday night for a birthday celebration, the 100th, for the American Cancer Society and the beginning of Relay for Life season.
In a short while, there will be a kick-off meeting for this year’s McDuffie County Relay for Life, which will be held Friday, May 10 at the Thomson High School track.
At Tuesday’s event, information was presented by Karen Lewis, area manager for the American Cancer Society, and Beth Firebaugh, ACS community manager.
Lewis thanked the audience for keeping Relay and the ACS’ goal of “Celebrate. Remember. Fight back.”
