John Barnett told young people to always strive to be winners, but to be proud when they have done their best.
Barnett was the keynote speaker when the Thomson Bulldog Athletic Booster Club thanked the 2012 Thomson Bulldog football team with a steak supper Saturday at the school.
Milan Turner said the team was appreciative of the effort.
“It was an awesome gesture by the booster club to show support of the football players and cheerleaders,” he said. “We talk about the effort being for the kids and this is a great thing for the booster club to show how they care about and support the youth of McDuffie County.”
Barnett coached for 26 years and taught history for 31 year at THS.
