• Community remembers King with banquet and day of service

As the country watched the second inauguration of the 44th president of the United States, a Thomson church was the site of day of observance honoring the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr.
More than 60 people from across McDuffie County arrived at Vanderhorst Christian Methodist Episcopal Church on Monday morning to attend workshops, network and engage in outreach to the community. On Saturday, the church hosted the 12th annual Martin Luther King Jr. Banquet. The audience heard the Rev. Roscoe Perry encourage them to be careful about the foundation on which they build their lives.
