The Thomson Lady Dogs fell a point short Tuesday in an effort to upset visiting Washington County, the No. 2 ranked team in Class AAA.
Thomson held a 28-21 lead at the end of three periods, but poor shooting led to a four-point effort in the final period of the 33-32 region loss.
With six seconds left, Washington County went to the free throw line and missed two attempts to pad its lead. THS’ Jadah Lawson shot with time running out and missed, which allowed the Lady Golden Hawks to escape what would have been only their second loss against 15 wins.
