• Morgan to lead local GBI office

A new year brings about change and change took place at the Georgia Bureau of Investigation office in Thomson.
January 1 was the first day in a new role for Patrick Morgan, who was promoted to Special Agent in Charge.
Morgan, who has worked for the bureau for 15 years, was promoted from assistant special agent in charge to special agent after Mike Ayers transferred to Athens at the end of 2012.
As agent in charge of the Region 7 Field Office, he is responsible for the day-to-day operations as he, 10 agents and investigative assistant assist local law enforcement in investigating homicides, crimes against children, drugs and violent crimes in the six counties that comprise the Toombs Judicial Circuit.
