• Harding ready to join school board

Tinye Harding

Tinye Harding, a 1976 graduate of Thomson High School and a long-time educator, moves into a new role as she fills the District 5 seat on the McDuffie County Board of Education.
She will be sworn in during the upcoming week. Tuesday will be her first board work session and Thursday will be her first regular meeting.
She was elected to the fill the seat vacated by Greg Derry who chose to run in a super district and challenge fellow board member Bob Smith.
Harding brings a wealth of knowledge and experience into the role. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Georgia College and taught home economics for many years. She started her teaching career at Emanuel County Institute. The next year, she replaced a home economics teacher in McDuffie County who retired.
