The McDuffie Museum announced an upcoming Smithsonian exhibition by hanging a large white banner on Monday.
Residents of McDuffie County will have the opportunity to explore and celebrate American music and its roots by visiting the exhibit called “New Harmonies” March 29 through May 11 at the McDuffie Museum.
“You will hear all kinds of music, even Indian chants,” said Lewis Smith of the McDuffie Museum. “There will be something for everybody,” he said.
The six-week, Smithsonian exhibit will feature the early traditions of American music, including African American spirituals, Gullah, the stylings of Johnny Cash, Patsy Cline, Bob Dylan and music from various periods in American history and culture, and music of today.
