• Thomson Police launch ‘House Watch’
By Linda Green

Thomson residents going out of town for a brief or extended period of time will not have to worry about the safety of their homes.
House Watch, a new program by the Thomson Police Department, went into effect Jan. 1.
Police officers out on patrol will perform periodic security checks on the home until the resident returns.
In order to participate in House Watch, a person residing within the city limits of Thomson needs to fill out a form at the Thomson Police Department headquarters on Public Safety Drive three to four days before departing town.
