ē†Top stories: Looking back at 2012

During 2012, the stories of McDuffie County, itís residents, and its events were recorded in the pages of The McDuffie Progress.
This story serves to recap many of those stories, both good and bad.
In 2012, local voters selected a new coroner, voted for a school board incumbent to be replaced by someone else who was already serving in another capacity on the board, and helped elect a president. The courts saw people sentenced for murders from prior years and others arrested and charged for a more recent murder.
Local officials debated numerous issues, such as passage of the T-SPLOST and how to equalize water and sewer rates.
When football season arrived, the Brickyard had a new look and an increased seating capacity.
