• Non-certified staff of McDuffie Schools to get pay raises
By Wayne Parham

Non-certified employees of the McDuffie County School District soon will see two raises. One is set for January and the other for July.
The McDuffie County School Board voted unanimously to approve the raises, at a cost of $130,000 to the district’s budget during a meeting earlier this month.
“I guess, realistically, over the last nine or 10 years public education has been cut in funding drastically,” said Superintendent Jim LeBrun. “We’ve all had to make cuts in our budgets.”
“That being said, it’s been quite a while since our employees have had any raises,” he added.
