• Local DISH Network subscribers could lose NBC programming
By Linda Green

McDuffie County residents who use the Dish network could lose access to the local NBC channel if the affiliate and its parent company cannot come to an agreement on fees for technology that allows customers to skip commercials.
The Indiana-based Schurz Communications, which owns WAGT 26 in Augusta, wants DISH customers “ to pay more than five times the current cost for the same content,” according to a DISH release.
According the release, Schurz wants all DISH customers to pay a premium to use DISH’s commercial-skipping AutoHop feature whether they use it or not.
