• Bucs improve to 5-3, beat Natanael Greene
By Wayne Parham

Lacking one key starter and playing with another starter with a broken hand, the Briarwood Academy Bucanneers still defeated Nathanael Greene Academy 45-38 Monday night.
“We played well in the first quarter then we kind of took the second and third quarter off defensively then picked it up in the fourth quarter and closed it out,” said Briarwood Coach Bo Fleming.
After jumping out to a 13-2 advantage by the end of the first quarter, the Bucs let the Patriots gain ground in the second. During that quarter, Nathanael Greene outscored Briarwood 13-9.
