Tuesday night the Buccaneers had to pick up the pace as they tried to match the upbeat offensive style of Curtis Baptist. However, the Bucs fell short 76-58.
“They were very athletic. Their style of play wore us down in the second half and that was the difference in the game. We ran out of gas,” said Briarwood Coach Bo Fleming.
The two teams slugged it out early, matching scoring throughout much of the first half. At the end of the first quarter, Curtis Baptist led 15-13. But, the Bucs outscored the Crusaders 18-17 in the second quarter. By the half, the Crusaders held a slim lead.
