• Trio arrested on drug charges at Thomson home

A McDuffie County deputy investigating a possible assault was led to a Thomson home where he found a quanity of drugs and drug-related items.
The deputy was dispatched to Dallas Drive on Dec. 1 to respond to a man who reported being hit in the face with a gun and being chased by a man identified as Lacovian R. Kemp of Evans.
The investigation led the deputy to 1449 Laura Rogers Lane, where he found Kemp and two other individuals — Christopher M. Lampkin and Marquita N. White — inside the home.
According to Sheriff’s Major Ronnie Wilson, the deputy also found a quantity of marijuana, cocaine, plastic bags, scales and a handgun, which had been reported as stolen, inside the house.
