Earlene Cawley
Earlene Cawley, 63, of Lincolnton, Ga., daughter of Lessie Mae Norman Young, entered into rest on Mon., Dec. 10, 2012.
Funeral services will be held on Thurs., Dec. 13, at 3:30 p.m. at Goshen Baptist Church & Cemetery.
Visitation will be held on Wed., Dec. 12, from 7-9 p.m. at Beggs Funeral Home in Lincolnton.

Corene S. Chalker
Corene Swint Chalker, 92, of Gibson, Ga., wife of Joe W. Chalker, died on Wed., Dec. 12, 2012.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Fri., Dec. 14, at Shoals Primitive Baptist Church. Burial will be in Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Thurs., Dec. 13, at Sheppard Funeral Home in Gibson.

James W. Disney
James W. Disney, 85, of Augusta, Ga., entered into rest on Dec. 8, 2012 at University Hospital, McDuffie.
Memorial services will be held at 3 p.m. on Thurs., Dec. 13, at the Christ Church Unity on Central Ave. in Augusta, Ga. with Rev. Michael Allen officiating. Interment will follow in Westview Cemetery in Augusta.
Mr. Disney was a native of Coal Creek, Tenn. and served in the U.S. Army during World War II in Germany and France. After the war, he married the late Betty Jenkins Disney and they resided in Augusta for many years. Mr. Disney was a retired chemical operator from Savannah River Plant with over 34 years of service. He was a member of the Sons of Confederate Veterans Berry Benson Camp in North Augusta, S.C.
Survivors include his son, Glenn W. Disney and Louise Stewart of Hephzibah; daughter, Melanie (Blackwell) Cushman and husband Mike of Thomson; three grandchildren, Elizabeth Miras, Julie Disney and Jacob Disney; and two great grandchildren, Austin Miras and Mason Chaney.
Memorials may be made to the Sons of the Confederate Veterans Berry Benson Camp #1672, 131 River Club Lane, North Augusta, S.C. 29841.
Beggs Funeral Home of Thomson is in charge of arrangements.

Lillie M. Farmer
Lillie Mae Farmer, of Wrens, Ga., entered into rest on Fri., Dec. 7, 2012.
Funeral services will be held on Fri., Dec. 14, at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Stapleton, Ga. Interment will be in Vinning Cemetery.
Burnett Funeral Home of Wrens is handling the arrangements.

Corrine Hobbs
Corrine Hobbs, 76, of Edgar Circle in Thomson, Ga., entered into rest on Dec. 12, 2012 at Gibson Health and Rehabilitation.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced later by Beggs Funeral Home of Thomson.

Joseph Newton, Sr.
Joseph Betts Newton, Sr., 87, of Thomson, Ga., husband of Sara Worrell Newton, died on Tues., Dec. 11, 2012.
Visitation will be held on Thurs., Dec. 13, from 5-7 p.m. at Curtis Funeral Home in Thomson.
Graveside services will be held on Fri., Dec. 14, at 2 p.m. at Westview Cemetery in Thomson.

Mary Perdue
Mary Perdue, 89, of Gibson, Ga., wife of the late Ralph Perdue, died on Mon., Dec. 10, 2012.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Thurs., Dec. 13, at Fellowship Baptist Church & Cemetery in Gibson.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Wed., Dec. 12, at Sheppard Funeral Home in Gibson.

Robert L. Smith
Robert Lee Smith, of Lincolnton, Ga., passed away on Sat., Dec. 8, 2012.
Funeral services will be held on Thurs., Dec. 13, at 2 p.m. at New Tabernacle Baptist Church & Cemetery.
Survivors include: son, Marion Partlow; mother, Geneva Smith; brothers, Willie, Wesley, and John Smith; and four grandchildren.

Hamp Turner
Hamp Turner, of Lincolnton, Ga., passed away on Sat., Dec. 8, 2012.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Fri., Dec. 14, at Mulberry CME Church & Cemetery.
Survivors: finance', Nellie Lou Milton; siblings, Jerry Dorsey, Mary Marshall, Jimmie Turner, Maude Booker, Booker T. Turner, Evelyn Wallace, and Juanita Tutt; three grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Warren G. Wells
Dea. Warren G. Wells, of Wrens, Ga., entered into rest on Thurs., Dec. 6, 2012.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Sat., Dec. 15, at Harts Grove Baptist Church & Cemetery in Stapleton, Ga. Friends may call prior to the service at Burnett Funeral Home in Wrens until 11:45 a.m. then at the church.

Ada Williford
Ada Ellen Palmer Williford, of Thomson, Ga., daughter of the late W.H. Percy Palmer and Annie Lampp Palmer, entered into rest on Dec. 11, 2012.
Burial will be at Zoar United Methodist Church on Sat., Dec. 15, at 2 p.m. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service at the church.
