Tuesday night at Thomas Jefferson Academy, the Briarwood Buccaneers held a strong lead throughout most of the game and won 49-45.
“We led most of the game by double figures, but in the fourth quarter we just turned it over too much and couldn’t make shots,” said Bucs Coach Bo Fleming.
The Bucs jumped out to a 13-8 lead by the end of the first quarter. Then they took a 27-18 lead into the half.
Fleming said this was the first game the Bucs hadrun a press on defense and it paid off by causing Thomas Jefferson to turn the ball over a number of times.
