The perimeter of a local club became a foot track on Friday afternoon as boys and girls walked laps to support St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
The children and parents of the Boys and Girls Club of Thomson culminated a week of activities to raise $1,000 to help the Memphis, Tenn.-based hospital fight childhood cancer and other disabling diseases.
The children obtained sponsors to walk an hour around the building. They also participated in service projects that included writing letters to soldiers, residents in nursing homes and patients in the hospital. The children also participated in a can drive and a coin drive, all to benefit St. Jude.
