The 10th anniversary of Festival off Main entertained hundreds last week with the theme, “Tis the Season.” Even if the weather was unseasonably warm, it didn’t prevent people from getting into the Christmas spirit.
On Thursday night, youngsters from Norris Elementary and Thomson Elementary schools sang for the crowd that gathered to see the community’s Christmas tree illuminated at the Depot. Cooper Land, 3, flipped the switch that lit the lights as the crowd cheered.
During the event, Thomson Mayor Kenneth Usry encouraged the crowd to remember the true meaning of the season and asked them to think of the less fortunate.
