• Felt ignites, starts fire at HP Pelzer

There are two possible causes for a Tuesday morning fire in the warehouse of a Thomson industry.
McDuffie County Fire Rescue responded to a 9:56 a.m. alarm at HP Pelzer on Warrenton Highway to find smoke present in the rear of Plant 2.
The fire fighters proceeded to extinguish a fire within a large pile of felt material located at the base of a shredder machine.
