A young man short in stature is amazed at a tall honor.
Tanner Reese, 11, the son of David and Denise Reese, was recently named grand marshal of the “Festival off Main - Tis the Season” Christmas parade which is Sunday, Dec. 2, at 3 p.m.
When asked his duties as grand marshal, Tanner shrugged and broke into a big smile.
“I don’t know what my duties are, but I know it’s a great honor,” he said.
Diagnosed in 2011 with acute lymphoblastic leukemia, Tanner has a great outlook on his progress and treatment.
“I feel strong and brave,” he said. “I like to know that I can beat something that hard because I didn’t know that about myself before.”
Denise said he is nearly halfway through his treatment regimen which is scheduled to end Dec. 16, 2014.
