An effort is underway to contact veterans, regardless of their service.
Hugh Conlon, veteran advocate for Augusta Warrior Project (AWP) has been on the job just a few weeks, but he is anxious to get the word to veterans of what Augusta Warrior Project means and what the project can do for them.
The Augusta Warrior Project’s aim – in short – is to connect warriors and their families who live in the Greater Augusta area of Georgia and South Carolina (CSRA) with resources that can improve their lives.
“We are reaching out to those that served in all conflicts,” said Conlon. “No one has a real grip on how many veterans are in the CSRA area, and that is one aim. We want to be able to go to government officials and discuss budget needs with a true count of the number that served.”
