Golf carts filled with 72 men and women left the starting line at 1 p.m. on Oct. 19 to play 18 holes of golf at the Belle Meade County Club.
The 24 teams, of three people each, struck out to play in the annual tournament of the Thomson-McDuffie Chamber of Commerce.
The golfers, representing industries from across the CSRA, played for a variety of prizes that included retreats, golf outings, a golf set, cash, prizes and the grand prize of a golf cart for a hole in one. The day also included a silent auction of gifts ranging from a television set to tools to an abstract painting of a chicken.
