Fire crews extinguished a blaze at the McDuffie County Transfer Station Wednesday night.
McDuffie Fire Rescue Service Asst. Chief Stephen Sewell said firefighters were dispatched to the station at the corner of Mesena and Tankersley roads at 8:29 p.m.
Upon arrival, they found flames coming from a trash truck trailer that had been parked late Wednesday afternoon. Sewell said smoke was seen coming from the trailer that afternoon, but that fire personnel had not been notified.
