Virginia Wilson Cooper
Virginia Wilson Hardy Cooper, 85, of Ridge Ave. in Thomson, Ga., entered into rest on Oct. 18, 2012.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Sun., Oct. 21, at the Beggs Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor M. L. Barber officiating. Interment followed in Savannah Valley Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Cooper was born in Unicoi, Tenn. but lived in Thomson, Ga. most of her life. She was the daughter of the late Nelson L. Wilson and the late Cleo Lamons Wilson. Mrs. Cooper was retired Civil Service from Ft. Gordon with 32 years of service. She attended Iron Hill Advent Christian Church.
Survivors include her son, Jimmy Elton Hardy and wife Angela of Aiken, S.C.; brother, Nelson “Bunky” Wilson, Jr. of Swainsboro, Ga.; grandchildren, Elton Hardy, Drema Hardy and Amaya Hardy; and a lifelong friend, Sue Norman. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elton Hardy.
Memorials may be made to Iron Hill Advent Christian Church.
The family received friends from 1 until 2 p.m. on Sun., Oct. 21, at the funeral home.
Beggs Funeral Home, Thomson, Ga., was in charge of arrangements.
Tom H. Huff, Jr.
Funeral services for Tom Hardwich Huff, Jr., 70, of Harlem, Ga., will be held on Tues., Oct. 23, 2012, at 2 p.m. at New Hope Baptist Church in Harlem. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
Thomson Funeral System is handling the arrangements.
Oscar J. Kaney, Jr.
Oscar John "O.J." Kaney, Jr., 91, of Warrenton, Ga., husband of the late Mary Hogan Kaney, died on Sat., Oct. 20, 2012.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by Lowe Funeral Home of Warrenton.
Virginia R. Kenner
Virginia Ramsey Kenner, of Decatur, Ga., mother of Shondrel Kenner, Frederick Beard, & Michael Beard, passed away on Fri., Oct. 12, 2012.
Funeral services were held on Sat., Oct. 20, at Mount Zion Baptist Church & Cemetery in Lincolnton, Ga.
The family received friends on Fri., Oct. 19.
Alvin E. Lamar
Alvin Euguene "Gene" Lamar, 79, of Washington, Ga., husband of Sarah M. Lamar, died on Fri., Oct. 19, 2012.
Funeral services were held on Sat., Oct. 20, at Victory Baptist Church in Washington. Interment was in Resthaven Cemetery. The family received friends prior to the service.
Beggs Funeral Home of Lincolnton, Ga. handled the arrangements.
Barbara Washburn, 76, of Lincolnton, Ga., companion of Jerry Lindner & mother of Sindy Goble and Holly Newberry, entered into rest on Oct. 16, 2012.
The family will receive friends at Beggs Funeral Home of Lincolnton, Ga. on Thurs., Oct. 25, from 5-8 p.m. As per her wishes, no services are planned.
