Early on, the second ranking in the state’s Class AAA seemed wasted on the Thomson Bulldogs Friday night at Tiger Field.
However, the Bulldog offense never stopped producing and the defense got greedy in the second half to blast the Swainsboro Tigers 57-20.
The Dogs, 7-0, 1-0, put the leashes on the Tigers – finally – after being ahead by two points, 22-20 at halftime. In the second half, Thomson held the home team to one first down and 44 yards of total offense.
This Friday night, Thomson hosts region opponent Dodge County for homecoming.
