• Appling woman arrested for prescription fraud
By Linda Green

An Appling woman was arrested and charged with attempting to obtain a fraudulent prescription from a local drug store.
The Thomson Police Department took Julie C. Coxville, 36, of White Oak Road into custody on Oct. 4 and later charged her with a felony count of prescription fraud.
According to Captain Jamie Bridges, Coxville allegedly called in a prescription to Walgreens via its voice mail prescription system. The captain said something raised the suspicion of the pharmacist who called the doctor’s office to verify the prescription. “The doctor’s office advised the pharmacist that they had not prescribed her any medication,” Bridges said.
