• County accepting proposals for ambulance service

The McDuffie County Board of Commissioners will begin accepting proposals for an operator of Emergency Ambulance Service on Friday, Oct. 5.
The commissioners announced Oct 3 that the county is looking for a company to provide an emergency ambulance service within the unincorporated areas of the county, the City of Thomson, the Town of Dearing and possibly the unincorporated areas of Glascock County.
The commission encourages interested companies to submit a proposal by 2 p.m., Mon., Oct. 29.
