• Cancer survivor urges annual mammogram
By Linda Green

“Oh My God. Am I going to die from cancer,” are the words Joyce Lewis first uttered when she found out that she had breast cancer.
Already the recipient of a kidney transplant seven years ago, Lewis, 50, said she was undergoing a required annual mammogram when she learned of cancerous cells in 2010.
“I was at home by myself when I got the call. I was upset,” the Randall Hunt Road resident said. She also wondered how to break the news to her three children.
Lewis credits the mammogram with enabling the cancer to be caught in the early stages.
